Ah, summer teaching.

Having slept poorly (which is to say, not at all) the previous two nights, last night I slept soundly and dreamt of being reunited with my puppy, only to wake at 8:52am to the horrible realization that my first class was starting at 9:10.

I was in the classroom at exactly 9:10, with lipgloss on.

I don’t know if I should be proud or ashamed of myself.

  1. Proud. If you got out of bed, got dressed (in something besides leggings and a maternity top — I hate that look for non-gestating women), brushed your teeth, got out of the house, figured out the business end of a lipgloss AND drove a car (or ran across campus) in 18 minutes, you should be proud. Peackocky, even.

    • with lipgloss on.

My first thought was, “Yes, she got the lipgloss, but did she remember pants?”

And if so, good on you. I’m fast but not sure I could’ve made it that quickly.

      • Yes, fortunately for everyone involved, I did remember pants. I couldn’t remember if I managed deodorant, so I kept my distance from people. Also, I’m pretty sure I taught with sleep lines creasing the left side of my face.

I don’t know about how you felt when you typed this, but when I read it in my inbox, I BWA HA HA HA HA HA HAd.

        Thanks for that 🙂
